About

Our goal in publishing the biannual Journal of Communication Studies is to provide a forum for post-graduate students and also faculty members to share their work. The journal which will also include thesis abstracts and book reviews, hopes to become a communication hub for Communication Departments and also for others working in this field and it is open to the multidisciplinary fields where communication studies converge. We aim to publish all work that draws from such a broad field.

We have designed this journal as a platform for debate, discussion and the sharing of our work within a larger, interdiciplinary realm of media and cultural studies. After the first two issues we are proud that we have come very close to achieving our goal of covering a broad spectrum of multidiciplinary crossroads of literature, communication studies, public relations, television serials, gender politics and history, popular culture, ethnicity, nationality and so on and have combined these with critical theory and media and popular culture practices. We hope to continue with this multidiciplinary approach and even include a fuller range in later issues. We are hoping that all of you who share this same kind, or different kinds of concerns will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas with us.

Starting with the second issue, each issue will be covering a specific topic in relation with communication. The second issue's main theme was Communication and Culture; the third issue's main theme is announced to be Communication and Gender; fall issue is envisioned to be on Communication and Politics. The "Announcements" link will be regularly updated for you to be able to follow the topics of the future issues and the submission dead lines.
