The Rochester Institute of Technology(RIT) in Rochester, New York, and Yeditepe University(YTU) in Istanbul, Turkey, have collaborated to offer a joint Master of Engineering in Engineering Management (MEEM) degree program.
Based upon an existing MEEM degree in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at RIT, this newly formatted program will be offered at Yeditepe University over a one year period, with courses taught at both RIT and Yeditepe by faculty from both institutions.
At the end of the program two M.Sc., diplomas from RIT and Yeditepe will be given to the successful students.
To take full advantage of resources at RIT during the summer months, five courses taught by RIT faculty will be delivered during two consecutive summer sessions. During the first summer, RIT faculty will travel to Istanbul to offer three courses; This three courses will also be in the scope of Supply Chain Management certificate program and during the second summer, Yeditepe students will travel to Rochester to complete two additional courses. Each summer course will be offered in an intensive 2-week session. “Certificate of Completion” from the Kate Gleason of Engineering at RIT will be given after the completion of these tree courses and these .Graduate credits (4/course), fully transferable to applicable graduate programs. The other half of the program, or seven courses, will be taught at Yeditepe during the fall and spring semesters, by faculty from Yeditepe, during evenings and/or Saturdays.
Students enrolled in this exciting program will be offered a range of courses to help them develop advanced technical and leadership skills needed in today’s competitive global economy. Example courses may include: Operations Research, Advanced Topics in Ergonomics and Human Factors, Quality Control, Systems Optimization, Advanced System Integration, Project Management, Design of Experiments, Database Management, Manufacturing Systems, and Systems Simulation. Two electives offer flexibility to meet individual and business-centric needs.
The program has been approved by New York State and the Turkish Higher Education Council.
Application
All prospective students must fill an application for admission to the Institute of Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering before the 15th of May 2006. The admissions office will notify timely applications of required test scores of transcripts and deadlines addition to the following documents:
- BSc Diploma Photocopy (CGPA 2.6+/4.0 is preferred)
- Two letters of Recommendation
- Proof of Proficiency in English (213+TOEFL Score or 80+KPDS Score)
- LES Score 50+
- Transcript
Admission Requirements Applications should have a BSc degree in Engineering Science or in business. Applications who satisfy the above requirements are taken to an interview. Successful candidates are admitted to the program. All non-native speakers of English are required to submit a proof of proficiency in English or take the examination given at Yeditepe prior to their science examination.
Supply Chain Management This program is the Certificate Program and also the first quarter of Master of Engineering in Engineering Management program. Applicant and can attend this program and can obtain a certificate; those who want to continue are able to complete the whole MEEM program.
Degree Roadmap Three summer courses will be given by RIT faculty at Yeditepe within the scope of both “Supply Chain Management” certificate program and the first quarter of degree program and two summer courses will be given at RIT, Rochester, each course will take two weeks (in total 6 weeks at Yeditepe and 4 weeks in USA). There will be 7 courses will be given by Yeditepe faculty during the terms of 2006-2007. Courses Yeditepe University will be during evenings and/or Saturdays.

Ps. Certificate program and complete MEEM program makes as a total of 12.500 $ + 8% value added tax.
